Losmandy GM-8 / reflector combo?
      #3147646 - 06/05/09 05:30 PM

Hi group,

I recently purchased a 6" f/6 reflector. I have not received it yet, but am considering a mount for it. My preference would be a Losmandy GM-8. The scope is 35" long and weighs about 17lbs. I would like opinions on whether you would feel the GM-8 would handle it or should I look elsewhere? I am a visual observer and don't do astophotos.

Thanks for your help.

Hi PJ,
I mounted a Meade SN6 on my GM8 and it did very well. I used it for AP mostly. Average exposures were 2-3 minutes unguided with good tracking.
I may sell the GM8. If you're interested, PM me.
I live in the Traverse City area

My GM-8 worked quite well with an Orion 8 inch reflector.

You should not have any trouble with your 6 incher.

Ron
