Question for the group...It's my understanding that Questar figures current quartz substrate on the Q 3.5 to at least 1/10 wave front. Does anyone know how long this quality standard has been in place?

Well, Questar doesn't figure any glass. That is all done by Cumberland Optical. Various wave front numbers have been attributed to Questar, and I believe they are the total throughput of the system at the axial port, i.e., the result of four optical surfaces. To achieve this, the assembly/collimation must be very accurate (done by Questar) and the surfaces probably average about 1/50 wave.
For more information, Company 7 seems to have more stuff on their web site than does Questar.
