New Teton-LOMO 95/650
      #3157395 - 06/11/09 12:41 PM Attachment (108 downloads)

Teton Telescope is proud to announce the Teton-LOMO 95/650 apochromatic refractor. This scope was about a year and a half in the making. Most of that was waiting for the fairly rare 95/650 objectives, with a healthy dose of waiting for tubes as well. After lengthy analysis of just what sort of tube would be best suited, a bit of help from Astronomics brought about a solution that will please both the visual observer and the imager alike.

The heart of any telescope is it's optics. In this case, LOMO lenses are well known for setting the standard by which others are compared. That is mainly with their 80mm objectives. Lesser known is their 102mm lenses, and the even rarer 95mm. Of the few that discerning astronomers have reviewed, LOMO lenses always come out on top.

Housing these optics is a baffled alum tube with sliding dewshield. The focuser is the key to making the design work so well for any application. A well known brand of focusers was in the final running, but this model won final approval. It is a 2.7" dual speed rack and pinion. It features precision movement, a graduated drawtube with 120mm of travel, a finder base for multi-reticle type finders, and a very smooth rotateable rear collet.

If the 2" adapter is unscrewed, it reveals 93mm threads. This matches the same threads found on the Teleskope Service FF2.5 field flattener. The long travel results in a compact 18.5" transport length, making it carry-on capable. That same travel allows for ample backfocus for imaging, as well as making this scope binoviewer friendly. It's all good!

Also included is a foam lined aluminum carrying case and interferometric test report.
