New Version of iOptron 8401 Controller Firmware
      #3162078 - 06/14/09 09:23 AM

Noticed yesterday that iOptron had posted a new version of the 8401 firmware on
their web site. This version is dated 090606. It replaces version 090505 which
contained the weird "Sync to Target" behavior. I assumed the new version fixed
this bug. Downloaded and installed it without problems. Spent 90 minutes last
night with my SV90T and MiniTower running the new firmware. I'm pleased to
report that "Sync to Target" seems to be working correctly. Better yet - target
acquisition and tracking was seemingly better than before (with version 080801).
Started by slewing and syncing to Arcturus. Then slewed and synced to Vega. Was
primarily doing doubles so I was often observing at 150x-200x with my 6-3 Nagler
Zoom. Was spot on every target I selected for the remainder of my observing
session. Hope to be running my MiniTower with its new firmware through more
extensive observing sessions next weekend at Cherry Springs Star Party.

Mark

Mark, I was wondering what "Sync. to target" issue were you having?

occasionally when you pressed the ok button the scope would move off target.

Okay...that explains my problem. I just upgraded a few days ago and things were not 'right.' I guess I'll install new firmware again. Thanks for the heads up! I would not have looked for months had I not seen this.
