I've had my 125 for a year now and just getting around to trying it in Polar Mode. The manual is confusing. What is the home position for Polar Mode? Does anyone have a link to good instructions for setting up in Polar? Mainly just the Autostar procedure and home position. I understand the mechanics of operating an EQ scope. Thanks!

With the clutches unclamped, rotate the mount anticlockwise in RA until it hits the hard stop. Now rotate it 180 degrees clockwise, the forks should be about level with each other. Clamp the RA clutch. Rotate the declination axis to 90 degrees (due north or south depending on your hemisphere) & clamp. Job done. If in the northern hemisphere the tube should now be pointing roughly at Polaris.
Thanks! That seems simple enough. Meade should have hired you to write their manual. For some reason it makes more sense the way you put it. I assume from this point I can just do a 2 star alignment and the autostar will function the same as in alt/az?
