Finally I got a break in the clouds enough to do a sketch, I sketched this pair that looks just like a nice double star through binoculars. Hmm... I think this one turned out pretty terrible, I suppose that's what I get for not doing any sketches in what seems like months.

Don't be so hard on yourself it looks great, I would say it looks like Venus and Mars with some field stars.   Even with a large telescope, at this point in its orbit it would look about the way it does in your binoculars.
You had to be pretty excited to get clear sky to see some of your old friends.
