This is an impressive sketch of the pair. Just when I think your drawings are as good as they can be you top yourself with yet a better sketch. Excellent work, I agree with Jim above.

Roland,
An excellent observation of this interesting pair of inter-acting galaxies in Canes Venatici. A supernova (2008ax) was detected in NGC 4490 on March 3, 2008. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
