Aaron,

Wonderful capture of each object. Is north down in your sketches? I enjoy your rendering of the Swan and of the Trifid Nebula especially. Thanks for sharing.

The white arrow is for north, which is down in the first three. I see I forgot to mark M27, for which I believe north is more to the right, I'll have to check a chart.

Also, here are some photos I took over the weekend: GSSP 2009 Photos

Very nice sketches, well done.
I checked out your pictures of the Golden State Star Party
Nice view of Mt Hood before sunset. Beautiful place to observe from.

Its actually Mt. Shasta. The site is between Mt. Shasta and the NV border in Northern CA.

Aaron,

Excellent observations of M8, M17, M20, and M27 from the Golden State Star Party. The skies must have been very dark and transparent. I have also observed the skies of Northern California on the western side of Mt. Shasta (north of Weed, California) and the views were magnificent (see attached observation of M27 below made on November 7, 2008 (04:00 U.T). Thank you for sharing them with us all.

Carlos
