Unitron 40mm new
      #3188112 - 06/29/09 01:35 AM

I have recently bought old 4" vien reflector that came with a 1.25" 40mm unitron ep - the glass looks damaged but had a look at moon with 8" dob & I can't see any problems. However - the ep needed to be half way up the focuser to reach focus (i'm guessing thats why the previous owner has tape half way up). Is this normal for these ep's? could someone have moved the internal elements around so it is like this
thankyou daniel

Dan,
You can continue to use it as is or get a short focuser extension. Sound like the focuser does not have enough out travel for that eyepiece.
