Hello !
I am also new in this forum and at first - my english is not very good - i am sorry but it will be enough to talk with us. My name is Michael and i am from austria. I began with the astronomy since 30 years ago and for a little time, i was a astrodealer in carinthia( 2004-2006) 6 years long, i was the leader of the "Kreuzbergl Observatory" in Klagenfurt and also leader of the "mobile astronomy". At last, i am a fan of refraktors. At this time, i have a Meade 80/1200 on a Konus Mount( like EQ5)

Hi doc. I am interested in a possible purchase of a D&G lens and wandered what you think of their Quality(Do they Qualify?). I know there are several companies (Russians')that produce fine Achro's and a few have extra good Prices, also. Anyway, I would like to hear your opinion my Friend. yt....Phillip

Phillip, I've found that D&G lenses are state of the art and would highly recommend even if they were more expensive! One of the owners, Barry, will not let the lens out of his hands unless it was as good as it gets. What size lens are you interested in?

Hi also.....new to this forum - although not new to astronomy, and have "looked in" on CN on and off over the last couple of years.
I think I got my avatar etc setup correctly.....this post may tell....!
"Kokatha man" as in the Kokatha group of Australian Aboriginal people.....one of the Western Desert groups here in Australia. (Kokatha as in "cooker" - the electric/gas stove you "cook" your meals on - and "tar" as in tarpit)
My great grandmother was born into a tribal society before any white men had stepped upon her country.....I was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia, but carry our tribal group-name (Milika) with pride, and have been an active member of our community here in Adelaide over many years.....
But I'm thoroughly modern when it comes to AA, although at the moment I am working on a project (hopefully) to educate people about the importance and relative sophistication of various Aboriginal groups when it came to traditional knowledge thereof.
Planetary and widefield DSO imaging as well as land/nightscapes ring my bell.....
Couldn't see anywhere else to post (not being a beginner!) and thought there was some relevance to "international" in my post....!
