Along with the ASCOM platform you also need the Celestron mount driver. Then you should be able to select Celestron Scope Driver in the ASCOM Telescope Chooser dialog box that comes up when you press Connect to Telescope within PHD (the button with the telescope on it).

ok got the celestron scope driver ,but when you go to properties to select mount there is no cg5 ast to select or do you select a different name mount to work with the cg5 ast mount ? some where i read you dont even need to select the mount type ? is this true ?

Assuming the ASCOM platform and Celestron Scope driver have been installed properly when you press "Connect To Telescope" in PHD you will get a diaglog box called ASCOM Telescope Chooser. Choose "Celestron Telescopes" (in PHD 1.6) or "Celestron Scope Driver" (in PHD 1.1) in the drop down menu. The Properties button will then bring up a Celestron Driver Setup where you can choose the scope/mount type (I use the first CG-5 on the list "Advanced C5-SGT").
