Try an used pair of the Orion Megaview 20x80.
Nice Japanese binoculars.

This Polish review of the earlier Viven 20x80 BWCF gives the aperture a true 80.1 and 80.2 mm for left and right lens. This review is dated 2005. The Ark series came after this version. One hopes the aperture remains the full 80 mm.
This Polish site is called 'Optyczte.pl'
The Polish to English translation is at times poor but the general themes are clear.

If you look under 'tests' and 'test binoculars' - the Vixens will come up. This site has numerous other reviews with interesting results.

There are numerous other reviews under 'tests'.

Chris, is the 80.1/80.2 value a measurement of the diameter of the objectives, or is it an effctive aperture determined by taking into account the effects of e.g. an internal stop or the prism sizes?

I'm pretty certain it is the former.

Yes I believe it is just the actual measurement of the lens. Following a conversation with Kenny in a seperate post apparently this site has had some historical debate about the methods used to establish the actual technical specificiations so I believe it may not be fully reliable.

I don't doubt it's a reliable measurement, just as long as it's understood it's the diameter of the objective as measured from the outside.
