How much do you have in your CPC? new
      #3193405 - 07/01/09 04:46 PM

It is addicting to add farkles (after market stuff) to the scope! But I just recently added up everything I have bought to date and I have almost $3800 in my CPC800

My God where does it end? I now could probably use a counterweight system since I am using a 2" system and bino's! Really has backweighted the booger!

That would put me near $4000 in the end!

Jeeez............I gotta stop!

The 1-800- - line is now open!

Where does the "scope" of your question end in going "along the axis from purely visual toward AP?" For example, would you include a motorized filter wheel, which could be used for visual, even if mostly intended for photography? Also, are you counting accessories that are easily moved from scope to scope? For an extreme example, you're not including eyepieces are you?

No sympathy here. Oh you think you're done, and then something else will come to mind. You'll tell yourself you want just one more thing.

I see you are imaging. A Feathertouch microfocuser would be a good idea.

Not counting the price of the scope, I had almost $4000.00
in acc. on my CPC 1100.Before I sold it.
I just bought another one. So the saga begin's again.

Does the rich field refractor that compliments the narrow field SCT also count? If so, I shudder to think.

You realize that you're asking one of those "forbidden" questions, don't you?

The ONE thing I learned long ago is NOT..repeat NOT to keep track of what I spend on my hobbies...

Why make yourself sick...????

I Apply this method to my other two hobbies (woodworking and cars) also..

Heck you could have taken your wife on a 10 day ocean cruise and spend that much money effortlessly. And if you did all you have today would be memories...

At least you have your equipment and have "some" chance of a cloudless night every now and then...
SO you are way ahead in the game of life...

SMILE BUDDY... BE HAPPY... Sit down and think about what you WANT to buy next...(not NEED to buy).. BUT WANT to buy...

Clear skies

I forget, here on the site someone told me it would be advisable to get a motorized focuser and I did

It is the cat's meow to say the least! I should have gotten one earlier. I can see how fine focusing during imaging will benefit with this little device!

Oh yeah.......that is another farkle added to the overall investment. And like Bob stated, a vacation last a few weeks, the scope will be here for a long time.

There is no such thing as too much bling. Just don't start with the calculator. Yes, I know it takes a calculator!

I've probably got another $1500-$2000 in my setup if you count the guidescope and EP's.

My wife and I joined our local Astronomical Society and on our first observing night I overheard the other members commenting on all of the gadgets we had hanging off our scope.
They really couldn't understand why I had the laptop.

Added a NP 101 for future piggyback. While I was at it figured a 17mm Ethos would make a nice addition to both.

A few beers helps the guilt at the time of purchase!!!

But Bob's philosophy is good for the long run.

If you count the "house" that I built for it to live in plus all the "jewelry" in terms of EP's, cameras, piggyback NHNG, focusers, finders, computers, monitors etc you'd be north of 10K. No guilt, I enjoy every cent I've spent and will spend more I'm sure.
