Active Region 11024 16:00 UT PST 40 8mm TVP eyepiece. Busy place There was a regular frequency of flares but also a frequency of clouds .:-( Lovely bunch of spots, filaments, very very active.

Beautiful sketches of a fast changing AR Dee! Glad you defied the clouds and went for it anyway, there are many who don't take the time to set up if it looks like they'll have to catch the view between gaps in the fluffies!

Nice sequence, Dee. Active regions are difficult to do in color, especially when they won't stand still. You've done a fine job. You were out there in the middle of a lot of activity--check out the GOES plot for July 4th. All those red spikes are B class flares.
I observed #1024 with my PST for only 5 minutes yesterday (~2000 UT) due to weather. Even observing through clouds, the active region was bright--and that was during a down turn in activity.
BTW, I saw your drawing on Spaceweather this morning.
