hello first post , first telescope , first of many questions .
well i picked up a celestron 102mm refractor #52270 any way the optics look very clear to me with the 20mm supplied lens i have more on the way off eBay set of 5 ,
so on to the questions ,
i have a t-mount and adaptor for my camera from a c90 F-11 lens , in looking at it,, it is different than the telescope adaptor needed for the scope , and mind you i have no idea on what I'm talking about yet , i have a Nikon d40x i want to hook up to this scope , i can screw the camera adaptor directly to the focus'er and I see that it gives me the normal 500mm out of this lens , i have a sigma 50-500 with a 2x for it , but i need more lens my first intended use is for long range wildlife photos . 2nd is the moon and stuff , if the sky would ever clear
so what do i really need to hook this all up to use with the eye pieces
all suggestions appreciated ( keeping budget in mind )

What kind of mount do you have? You will want a gem mount for dso work with your dslr at prime focus using a t adapter. For the moon a simple tri pod will work.

if its the tripod mount its what came with it , its a manual tracking ( turn the knobs kind ) i think they called the telescope a ( first scope )102mm so its the tripod and mount that came with it
dso? like i said very new to these terms
its the adaptors and things i would like to find out about to physically attach the camera to the scope as i see they call them 1,25 and 2" adaptors but when i put a tape to the threaded parts its like 1,5/8 " so it has me confused ,
im way out in the boonies so there is no shops around to take the parts in so online is my only option and im trying not to spend on things that don't fit
if I'm making any sense

DSO = Deep Sky Objects - faint galaxies, dim nebula, star clusters etc

You are pretty well limited to shooting the moon with this sort of mount. You can only do very short exposures - so you need large bright subject - the moon
