Active Sun and AR1024 today
      #3198987 - 07/04/09 04:08 PM Attachment (16 downloads)

The Sun seems to be getting a little active for a change. It's so refreshing to be able to see a sunspot and the related activity around it.

Took this one today at 15:27 UT with my Coronado SM90 DS & BF30 with the SBIG ST2000XM. Exposure is .010 second. The proms were captured at .030 second. 3 prominence shots were aligned and combined, autodark applied. The chromosphere was captured at .010 second. The sharpest 2 were aligned and combined. All in CCDSoft. Processing, layering and color done with Adobe Photoshop CS2.

Lovely full disk there Len! I only had a few brief windows to image today because of the weather and so concentrated my energies on the AR. Tomorrows weather for me is supposed to be quite decent, so if that's the case I hope to get a few proms in the mix aswell. Keep these images coming, they're really nice
