Does all Premium Edition ETX have the UHTC coating?

The specifications on the box are not clear.

Yes, they all have UHTC. The "Option only at time of purchase' is just ths standard line, a hold-over from the days when it was an option on Meade scopes warning buyers that it's not something they could add later. It's odd that it's listed like that on the box, but I'm pretty sure all PE scopes have the UHTC coatings.

According to that document, the PE Astro were available with or without UHTC. PE Blue are only available with UHTC

Ziguy,

I have an ETX90 PE without the UHTC coatings. It is the non-blue tube model. I bought it at closeout knowing it was nonUHTC.

I believe all ETX Astro tube scopes were sold without UHTC while Meade would then offer the UHTC as an upgrade option.. This would explain the 30 Astro tube ETX90PE non UHTC scopes Anacortes received.. The Astro tube was new and Meade wanted to keep the cost down by selling a non UHTC scope..

Just to be clear and make sure we are all on the same page:

Initially, you could purchase an Astro-Tube PE WITH or WITHOUT UHTC.
