IF this turns out to be the case (you never know with Meade these days) it's a shame, and all the more reason to hang on to my PE.
They do say it's an ill wind that blows nobody good, and that's probably gonna be the case for red dot finder makers once Meade gets rollin' with them horrible little ETX optical finders again.
Me, I'm just glad to see the MCT ETXes live on in some form.

On Meade Online Store, they wrote:
NOTE: ETX125-PE shown with different viewfinder. New photo pending. Only difference in product visually is the viewfinder used.
I'm wondering why they didn't put the old AT picture? Maybe they changed the old viewfinder?

Well, I didn't want to say anything, but I managed to find Meade's new prototype viewfinder. It's all very hush-hush, so no telling.

I used to have an ETX-90AT; I hated the optical finder. Eventually ditched it for a simple RDF. I was glad when I heard Meade was returning to the AT line, and had hoped the finder would be one of the standard MRF's, but appears not.

Eh, once my mount is aligned I put the dust covers back on my finder to keep the dew off. The only time I use it is when I decide to go 'off-road' in which case I'd have to agree; the red dot finder is much better than any of the older finders I've used on my ETX's. If there's one area the ETX has strugled that's it, the finder. A nifty way to scan an area is just to slew to a star near the field I'm interested in, start a spiral search, and enjoy the show.

What Wonders! Does this also mean that original design-flaw fixes (i.e. weak right tube adapters, etc.) will AGAIN be made available from Meade Customer Support? They weren't as of yesterday, so I'll believe it when I see it.

How can I replace the optical finder on my SN6 with an MRF? Does anyone make a replacement MRF that fits the shoe fixed to the OTA? Those optical finders are a real pile of *BLEEP*.
