Hello:
I still learning the Autostar and i have a question. Before this set up I had the 494 (Alt/Az Goto on a DS model). On the 494 the telescope moved in the direction of the direction buttons. On the 497, it does not. I think this is a function an EQ mount vs. an Alt/Az. However, is there a way I can get the 497 to move like the 494?
Or anyother neat tricks to make understanding which way the mount will move easier?

There's a function for reversing the direction the arrow keys move the mount, if that's what you're asking. I've never done it so I don't recall, but I suspect a little bit of poking around the menu will reveal the answer.

Yep, there's a menu item to reverse the l/r, u/d buttons (and I think it's on both the #494 and #497). I suspect you're right, depending on which mount/scope you have selected the arrow keys are set up to move the scope up/down, left/right, or north/south, east/west.
