thanks John

I'm using elcheapo MA25's in ours, only because those are the only matching pair we have. We will get another set soon but for now these EP's give us great views.

Bino viewing with the ETX60 adds yet another dimension to this underrated scope.

Nice scopes here. Here's mine. Etx-80 in my observatory. I've outfitted it with a homemade dewshield, piggyback camera adapter, semiflexible focus extension and a 9v 600mA power supply which seem to work fine. If you look close enough, you can see the masking tape I put on the topside of the inner tube assm. for indexing the focal point with various ep's, barlows, imagers, etc.

The ETX90 is a small flexible scope that I have used in various configurations over the years.

Here the piggy-backed my old LXD-55:

Yes, my lucky etx has the observatory all to itself. I do plan on upgrading to a 8 inch newtonian on a goto as soon as my income tax refund arrives.

I like your homemade dewshield Backscatter. Is that a 4" ducting pipe and how far past the objective is the end of the pipe?

Thanks rob

Looks like rest of my post cut off below the photo...

There is 3.5" to 4.0" of extension depending on rotation of the whole tube (typical use is 3.75”), and it will extend to 5" or 6", by rotating the segments a couple of degrees.
It was an extra piece of dryer venting and it’s for making complex angles.

I sprayed the inside with several heavy coats of a spray can of bed liner touch up paint (heavy texture, flat black), and the outside with a can of metallic blue.

The shield fits with the lens cap on, though not quite as far down. Sometime I just keep the shield on, as the lens cap threads sit within the opening, or it sits tight with a little angle to the cap (the corrugated end expands).

There has been no marring or scratches to the scope finish. Its pretty light, but sturdy.

Rummaging through the garage...go figure. I'm doing another with flexible aluminum vent hose for my 4500.

It's been a while since I had my little ETX-60BB out, so when I recently had it set up along with my ETX-125PE I decided to grab a quick picture of the pair sitting nest to each other.
