Here's another useful item concerning the Ring. The stars surrounding this object can be used to test your scope's "seeing" magnitude limits. There is a chart with the stars mags around the nebula in the Sky Atlas 2000 Companion book. Now I'm hopful that someone on the Forum knows where a chart/photo of the Ring Nebula with surrounding stars and magnitudes can be found on the net.

Thanks Paul, I'll make a record of the site and keep it in my notes. Knowing the mag limits of my scope has helped alot in my quest for DSO. Hopefully it can help others also.
