Yep - got 'em. I've got a couple other Vixen 0.965 orthos and really like them. Now I'm hoping to find a couple reasonably priced / less expensive Zeiss .965's and maybe the 40mm M44 EP to fit in a Zeiss turret that holds three 0.965's and one M44 eyepiece (that's attached to a Telementor II ;-)

Turns out there were three Vixens in the batch - an Or-6, an HM-12.5 and a K-20. Nice set that also included a well made Vixen prism type .965 diagonal. Of all the .965 EPs I have, with the exception of a similar set of Pentax EPs that came with the J80 (OR 6, K 12.5 and K 25), the Vixens are my favorites (yes, even beyond my Unitrons ;-). They are very well made and good performers.

Too many folks pooh-pooh the older non-ortho eyepiece designs because they aren't 50 degree plus FOV -- but for planets, variables, binaries, etc., many of them are great! Besides a couple Brandon orthos, my favorite EPs for Ha solar work are the venerable Edmund RKEs - wonderful contrast - and for 20% of the price of a Brandon!

The other thing I noticed about these Vixens and my other Vixen set is that they have all been exceptionally clean inside. There was some dust here and there on the outermost optical surfaces, but virtually nothing inside. I've got 3 different sets of Unitron EPs and they all had to be disassembled and properly cleaned because there was so much dust, dirt and what looks like tiny oil droplets on the INNER surfaces. (Not fungus - just junk!) Bottom line - the Vixens are well made, contrasty and definite keepers -- and will get a lot of use :-) Ciao!
