For this observing session. It suppose to stimulate the students (& general public) to get involved in astronomy and science. Any object than can be captured with a C14 and ST8, with max exposure time of 25sec would be great. Objects such as special nebulae, doubles, quasars, asteroids... would suit the task. We're having all sorts of filters and even a spectroscope, so thats might be taken into consideration. A current, bright supernova might be interesting. http://www.rochesterastronomy.org/supernova.html Since you have a spectrograph, how about a Wolf-Rayet star? I'd add M11 and NGC 6321 to the list of open clusters. You'll probably want to include some of the better globular clusters such as M3, M4, M5, M13, and M22.
