Kepler telescope

Since they are testing and have already made a discovery,I wonder how long before we ever have a actual clear picture of another planet in another solar system? I don't think Kepler is capable of this(as it only detects motion?),and I wonder if there are any new scopes planned in the future that would be capable of doing this.
