I called Meade and they do not have this part any more. This is my first telescope and I am 50 years old. I got it from an old friend who broke the plastic threaded fastener that holds the ra/az axis together also the numbers plate on the side is gone. I can't find these parts anywhere and was hoping that someone knew where i could get them. Thank you mark

Mark, Welcome to Cloudy Nights! You've chosen great forums to get assistance!
If you can't find the parts, it might be worth mentioning in the ETX forum here; perhaps someone there can advise you, as well.
Good luck in your search, & please let us know of the outcome.

Wouldn't this thread be best in the ETX forum?

Welcome to CN, mswede.
Check the following link out (in particular, you'll need the setting circles area.) They have them in a variety of diameters, just measure yours and look up what they have. http://www.oregonruleco.com/dials.htm
As far as the "fastener" -- are you referring to the RA clutch lock lever on the base of the fork mount (sort of silver-ish color?) If Meade doesn't provide replacements any longer, you may have to improvise and locate a knob whose diameter matches that of the post that engages the clutch.

have you any photos of the parts and are they similar to etx 70 or 80 parts, I have a few miscellaneous pats, mostly for the 80's. It might also be worth asking on mike weasners mighty etx site too. Grendel

Check under the orignal listing of this Post under Mounts. I listed the email address of Scophed1 as a source of parts. He is a CN member and a great person.
