Mike that is phenominal considering the altitude.

It keeps clouding over for me and were only 60 miles apart !!!

Mike,

A beautiful rendering of Jupiter, and as dweller25 mentioned, it is a testament to your observing skill that you were able to capture the King so accurately, considering it's elevation above your horizon!

Mike,

Excellent rendering of Jupiter and Callisto. I really like your capture of the band layers here.

Hi Mike,

Nice job on your sketch. You captured Callisto at the perfect moment. You also saw the dark area that follows Oval BA (seen below Callisto's shadow in the South Tropical Zone).

I think you might have accidentally added an hour to the time of the sketch. See this image by Ian Sharp from the UK. He also captured Oval BA and the dark area following it. Ian's image has south up. Btw, your sketch holds up well in the comparison.

Mike

Beautiful sketch work of Jupiter and the Callisto transit

Makes me wish I'd taken the opportunity last night to observe.

Thanks for posting,

Mark

Mike,

An excellent observation of Jupiter showing detail over the major bands (NEB and SEB) and the transit of Callisto. I am glad that your observation agrees with the image of it. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
