Hi I am in Australia and have a new ETX-LS. So far it has been working very well. I have a problem connecting it to my PC through the USB port, as I want to be able to drive it using Autostar and Starry Night Pro
When I connect the USB my computer cannot see the ETX
In device manager it sees Meade eFinder Serial Emulator but cannot load the drivers from the supplied Autostar disk. When I try to update the driver, I let it do an auto search and it comes up with
Windows has found ETX-LS serial port but has encountered an error whilst trying to install it.
I can forward some screen dumps if required
Looking forward to your help

I could be way OFF with this post! But... this sounds like your serial to usb cable is not working. Keyspan is the best most reliable brand. However my Scopestuff.com usb-serial cable also works just fine.
Just checking-
What usb serial cable are you using?

The ETX doesn't connect through a USB serial, it connects from a USB A to an USB B connector. Tried two cables but still cannot get it to work. Thanks

OK, and you are sure that the Meade updater software is pointed to the correct Windows Port number?
and you have the latest version of NET Framework on the machine. Downloaded from the Microsoft update site.
