First sketches from summer holidays (more added) new
      #3258975 - 08/07/09 07:51 AM

We just got back from a few weeks of summer holidays in Colorado. We've got a condo there where I keep a Mewlon and a SolarMax40 (although I forgot to bring any black paper for solar sketching this year).

I got out 3 moonless nights this year (a record), and was quite productive. I've finished scanning and touching up the first half of my sketches, which can be seen in the Deep Sky section (link to observing report).

Cheers,
-- Jeff.

Jeff,

Outstanding! I really liked your capture of M8 and of M4 and M62. Great details.

Jeff,

You have created four impressive deep sky sketches here. You always handle the the eyepiece view in a very realistic manner. Great sketches.

Jeff,

Excellent set of sketches. The globs are luminous (I really like M4) and the subtle variations of tone in the Lagoon nebulosity are very well rendered. I'm looking forward to seeing the other results of your "working vacation".

Jeff,

The additional sketches are the same high quality of the first group. I especially like the accurate rendition of detail in the M 20 sketch.

Jeff,

Excellent observations of globular clusters (especially M4), nebulae, and Jupiter. They are all well recorded, but M4 and M8 (Lagoon Nebula) are nicely done. Thank you for sharing them with us all.

Carlos

Dee --

Yeah, it's been pretty dismal all right. Not much rain though; I've gotten lots of work done in the garden.
