Comet+M27 in Vul new
      #3257066 - 08/06/09 04:23 AM Attachment (41 downloads)

Been frustrated by cloud of late but last night a few clear slots despite a near full moon to record Comet W3 Christensen in Vulpecula [below Cygnus] and nearby Dumbbell Neb M27 via my piggybacked ETX-70 OTA

Here's globular M71 in Sagitta immediately below Vulpecula and fairly well resolved for '70' - same set-up

Nice shot of the comet, nytecam. Probably the only view I'll get, so it's good to see it through your 70. Thanks!

Nice work as usual nytecam. I find my etx80 a good imaging scope too but I don't like the drive system all that much. I end up scrapping about 90% of my subs. I'll post some images with my sn8 when if finally arrives. Keep up the great work.

Suggest you reduce the exposure to give ~10% dropout and increase the number of subs to compensate I'm cheating with a piggybacked ETX-70 on my Meade LX200 where tracking is superior but my typical subs still 20-30s with no dropouts
