Here is my brand new Stellarvue SV110ED. I love this scope but so far it hasnt seen any light thanks to rain. I have it on the CG5 now but more than likely it will rest on a Stellarvue M2 mount most of the time. I plan on using it along with a Lunt Herschel wedge as a white light solar scope along with general use at night.

Hi Trever,
I've got the same scope, and am (also) waiting for the M2 mount to arrive, as its rightful home

How's your wait for the M2 going? I'm up to two build delays so far

Regards,

skybsd

Hi fellow CN members,
Here is my DIY Meade DS2090AT-DC 90mm. The post my get lost in all the other fine refractors here, but for the past month I have been working on this scope just to post it here on CN.
It may not be the best 90mm on the market, but it's my first scope project. I bought it to fill two job positions. 1. A Grab-N-Go unit. So far, it has done a good job. 2. To assist my Zhumell 8" DOB. I am utilizing the 497 Autostar to help locate as I view with the DOB. I have mounted a GLP to the 90 refractor to assist with this task.
Some of the other modifications I did was:
Completely flock the OTA
Crawford Machine single-speed Caryford focuser
Orion 2" focus extender
Parks 1.25 prism diagonal
Orion 6x30 finder
12volt power supply
custom felt lined tray
Cheers,
Rick in Tennessee

With the “Sirui” tripod so short at only 13.5 inches long when folded, I can put the whole set up into my overcoat pocket.

I ordered my M2 mount last week so my wait has only begun. Shelly at Stellarvue said they were coming soon after recent anodizing so she said it would be this week. We will see but I am in no hurry. The clouds have the final say and unfortunately they are in control..

Well.., here's hoping that the status update they provided to you is better than the one I got (30 - 45 days ) two weeks ago

I've got the SV110ED-A - you got time or chance to check out the BV option on yours?

Regards,

skybsd

As of Sunday I could have only posted a picture of my refractor.
Now I can post refractor (s)!!!!!!
Monday I picked up the 80 ED NHNG in the foreground. In behind is my 110ED.

Anyone care to venture a guess as to my favorite refractor manufacturer? Besides being great people they make great scopes and they are within 110 miles from me.

Sweet scopes Greg! Yeah, Stellarvue scopes are great and Vic and Shelly are one of a kind!

Hey Skybsd, yeah I have nothing to do but wait. But I have the Cg5 for now and I even see one star, the scopes going out!...lol

I havent checked out the bino option yet. I dont have a binoviewer at the moment. I am saving up for the Lunt herschel wedge now but I would like to see how it works out.

Here is my Skywatcher 100ED Pro, the first scope I bought after getting back into the hobby. The $1100 dollars I paid for the scope/mount combo during the summer of 2009 sale was a steal and I am very happy with this combo. Since last year I have added a MoonLite CF 2" dual speed focuser and an SV50M2 RACI...great options but not absolutely essential, the stock stuff is pretty good for visual work. My WO66SD is also riding on the 100ED and the whole thing balances with a single 11lb CW. One day I hope to pick up a TEC140 but this scope will provide plenty of fun until then and beyond. Thanks for looking, BrianB

Thanks Kerry. I've only had a couple of opportunities due to the horrid weather we have had this winter here in Virginia. Despite the weather and the less-then-ideal opposition I did get to see a bit, I could make out the polar cap and some light/dark area contrast...but that was the limit. Tonight we actually have 4/5 seeing and transparency so the scopes are out back cooling off. I'll hit Mars early (pretty much a losing battle now) and then wait for Saturn. Take care and Clear Skies, BrianB
