AAAA Astronomer's Journal or other?
      #3287189 - 08/22/09 08:08 AM

Looking into a sketching journal ... with templates, pre-bound. I notice the AAAA has one called The Astronomer's Journal. This looks nice. Do people have other favorotes?

Getting tired of loose sketches and loosing them.

Thanks,
Rob

Rob,

Sorry, I use a sketching pad and a compass to make my circles and then store them made for holding them after I have sprayed them. I found that if I left my sketches in the pad the graphite smeared. I'll have to take a look at the AAAA's copy. Sorry I couldn't offer any suggestions.

I've used the sketching form of Finnish Deep Sky Section for nearly 10 years (over 1500 sketches). It is made of cardboard, is A3 in size, easy to store, durable and in every way excellent.

I'm not sure if the English version ever got printed though. It was in the talks at one point but maybe it just got buried.

/Jake
