It was a damp evening, but still got some good views. Started with some awesome moon views using my Q70 26mm. Over the course of the evening I exchanged lenses a few times but that 2" 26mm was my favorite.
Spent most of the night in the Sagittarius/Scorpius region. Found many things. Some I'm pretty sure I knew what I was looking, some not so sure. My first goal was to find M20 which I think I found.
Scanning towards Aquila stumbled across a massive cluster. Was so big that it wouldn't all fit in the wide view. Might have been M11 or M26 but I'm not sure. Sort of in that region. What a great night.
I got some ok views of Jupiter. The other night 240X was clear and sharp but tonight I just couldn't reproduce the sharp image at high power. After bringing the scope back in I checked the collimation and it was a tad off, maybe that was it.
Can't wait to go out again tomorrow night. I'm planning my search now. Thinking of spending some time around Lyra and Cygnus.
Just wanted to share my evening. A good family event. My mother was out with her Meade 395. Unfortunately that awful stock mount finally gave way. We need to get her a dob next. My wife also took a few looks when I could find something interesting so overall it was nice Saturday evening.

That massive cluster may have been the M24 star cloud. M11 is decent sized, but M26 is relatively small.

I found it again tonight just scanning around.I'm going to star hop a bit tomorrow and try to verify on the star chart which one I keep bumping into and going WOW!! haha
Found the Ring Nebula for the first time a few hours ago. I was able to mag up to 240X on it but it never came in super sharp, nothing really did. The conditions were mediocre tonight.
I have the most fun and best views with my Q70 26mm lens. I love it. I have an Orion XT8 and they work well together imo.
