The Tapered ends that fit into the CF Tubes are releaved into about the end of the start of the CF tube and then the adjusting threaded area starts.

Ahh...That makes sense....I knew the Invar was used for it's thermal characteristics, but the big aluminum hub it is screwed into seemed to negate that positive characteristic.
I will probably be making my CF tube ends the same way. The commercial guys like Planewave and RCOS use all aluminum, but at f/8 the depth of focus is a lot larger than the f/3.3 I will be at. Using invar is expensive but will remove about 8 linear inches of aluminum from the truss length.
Mike, the Paramount is rated to hold a 150# scope *plus* the counterweights.
Thanks, Scott

Update
It looks like we will be donating our time on the scope to Physics Students at Celaya University here in Mexico for one of thier selected projects that we choose.
We are very excited about this learning experiance in another country....
Very Best Regards,

What a great idea Preston! They probably don't have access to such a great scope.
