Hello all Sketchers! If you need a quick concise observational data sheet that contains all or most of the essential observation information you need for your sketches we invite you to visit the webhub www.vega-sky-center.com the site of the Vega Sky Center and there is no charge to access them. The Center originally was founded by Mel Dawson and myself(Gary Barabino Sr)on August 16,1970 on the eve of a partial lunar eclipse when we were youngsters naming it the Vega Observatory. It was renamed the Vega Sky Center in 1975,and has survived Hurricanes and other life changing events. The history of the VSC is well documented within the pages of its annual Journals dating back to 1970 and these contain hundreds of sketches. The VSC consists of two amatuer observatories located in Slidell,Louisiana, and Riverview Florida, and have a total of about 47 telescopes of various sizes and types between them, the largest being a 12" f/5 Newt(VSC -1 Slidell) and the excellent 10" f/5.6 built by Mr Dawson at the VSC 2.We recently celebrated our 39th anniversary on Aug.16th of this year!!!Our website serves the entire astronomical community and we invite you to check us out.Clear Skies,Gary Barabino Sr VSC-1
