PST regs

2 posts just got locked about PSTs. If what was in them is considered a violation of the TOS about modification???
I'll just make sure I don't come here anymore!

Must admit as a PST owner I had an interest - I don't see how a repair of a faulty product is a modification - but then I'm not an all-powerful moderator

Me neither. There are some thin skins around.

As the author of the two locked threads I too feel it was a bit sensitive on CN's part. I in no-way implied I would "modify" my PST, but rather, fix it. Aside from adding a spacer to the focus knob (no different than adding an after-market knob IMO) and a piece of extra velcro on the prism, nothing was to be altered in any way, certainly not the optical system.

Anyway, I received some helpful emails and found a PST group over at yahoo groups that was very helpful in regards to my problem.

BTW, both problems are now corrected and I have a much, much better image than I did before.

The rules are plainly written and the mods responsible for implementing them the way he/she sees fit. end of story.

The rules have been in place for over a year. They have been discussed ad infinitum and the decisions have been made. We reviewed them again about two months ago and revised them. No further revisions or discussion will be occuring any time soon. The decisions were made after a discussion between all the mods and admins and our legal team, over 20 people in all. We're sorry if this is inconvenient to some people, but that's the way it is.
