Let me see if I can follow up on my Baader wedge question with another good thread.
I also want to move up in the H-alpha world. I've owned my PST/double stack system for several years now. So I am no stranger to this branch of the hobby. I've been watching the evolution of the Lunt products, and have my eyes set upon the Lunt 60mm H-alpha `scope with Pressure Tuner and Feather Touch focuser. With a $2000 price tag, do owners of the sort of system find them to be a good value.?
I'd be especially interested to hear of quantitative opinions of the pressure tuner functionality compared to the tilt system. I would think that the pressure tuner design will yield a brighter image, simply because I envision a tilt system as having to divert some fraction of the incoming beam.
Thanks in advance,
Gary

More likely: The brightness of the pressure system will not be better. Rather, the area of best resolution - where you can see surface details the best - will be larger with the pressure system than with the tilt system.

I own both the pressure tuned and the tilt wheel LUNT scopes. I would say that the full disk of the air tuned etalon is as bright as the sweet spot area in the tilt wheel tuned system.
I don't think you are going to find any quanitative measures of this though.
es, I do find it to be a good value.

I will say that my scope (same one you're talking about) is an extremely high quality piece of equipment- and the folks ar Lunt are absolutely wonderful to deal with. You can always appreciate the difference in a high quality piece of equipment- you are reminded of it every time you touch it.

I sold my 6 inch AP refractor to buy the pressure tuned 100 mm LUNT and I have owned a DSPST for many years since they first came out

The LS100THa is an awesome scope, the pressure tuner is a very nice upgrade from the older tilt design of Coronado.
