Hi all - just unpacked my new ETX-80 this afternoon and have already played with it a bit. One thing that I noticed is that the permanent coin battery inside the battery compartment is exposed. Part of me wonders if there is a cover missing, or if it just sits in there like that. Can someone have a look at theirs and let me know....thanks!
Can't wait to really try her out.

I just went and looked at mine (ETX-80) and mine is that way too, so I'd say that's normal. Craig

I didn't pull my 80 out of the pack to check, but which battery is this? I don't think I noticed, but do they have one in the base for keeping track of date/time/location data?

Yes Tim, that small battery is to keep the memory alive to store things like time, date, etc.

Thanks Craig....I guess it's normal so nothing to worry about. I played with the scope a bit last night and can't wait to get it out some more.
