Sept. 8th 2009 from Atlanta (POST DRAGON*CON) new
      #3323945 - 09/09/09 11:38 AM

Hi guys. Let me tell you that you haven't lived until a group of a dozen or so Storm Troopers in full costume have helped you lug your Solar Scopes through the lobby of a hotel for an outreach event on the 3rd floor pool deck.

I did Dragon*Con this past weekend and had a blast! We probably saw about 300 folks and there were over 30,000 people there. I also gave my newly created comprehensive 3D powerpoint presentation on all NASA Solar Missions to date. it went well. The 3D glasses were a big hit.

Here are some photos of a couple of "CHICKEN SANDWICHES" from Tuesday here in Atlanta. Hope you enJoy.
The CaK shot is pretty bad I know but it took so much time to get even that quality out of it, I couldn't just toss it. He He

That ca-k image shows the "Huge AR" that I referred to yesterday...or does it? ... it looks much reduced in this image I suspect an image after my timed post. Well done for the images! Regards John

Very nice shots, Stephen- Glad the presentation went well! I'm sure you had an audience of a "different" caliber than usual!

Glad you had a good time (and the weather apparently didn't spoil things). The images are good, but they appear to be actually be showing solar prominences with the disk shots showing bright plage rather than solar flares. Clear skies to you.

Flares, proms, chicken sandwiches, flames....everybody here knows exactly what I am referring to. We've had this conversation before man. Sorry for not using the proper scientific name.

Way to buzzkill the post.
