H-alpha sun 2009.09.13 - 12:55UT
      #3331414 - 09/13/09 12:03 PM

Hi all,

today I really had to fight against the seeing because I wanted to take the avis with a focal length of 2300mm - well, and it worked...somehow.

SE proms:

NE proms I:

NE proms II:

NW proms:

SW proms:

FH 120/1000 @ 2300mm, Barlow, DMK 31AF03, stacked in AviStack resp. Registax, finished in Photoshop.

Great shots for the poor seeing. The 2 large proms have come out really well.

Thank you, Paul and Mark!

Paul, I processed the NW prom with AviStack, but it does not work on the SW prom - who knows why?

I used registax on both images but that SW prom was strange as it didn't appear to have much internal contrast which made it difficult to sharpen correctly. I'm guessing it was quite a diffuse prom to start off with. It would have been interesting to see how that prom really appeared in substained excellent seeing.

Terrific images, Cai-Uso! Yours were taken a few hours before I was able to view. The seeing here started off pretty sharp and degraded severely by my last sketch.
