Solar prominences in h-alpha

Temp: 24.4° -25.8°C, Humidity 74%-61%
S: Wilson 4 dropping to 1.5, T: below average
Clear to lightly scattered, breeze <7mph SE
Alt: 45.8-51.8, Az: 138.3-159.2
Plenty of smaller prominences, concentrated on recordings of the four most prominent areas. Very minimal surface details with respect to filaments, ARs and plage. Chromospheric network was stunning.

Absolutely lovely sketches. Lovely.
I just came in from observing - SM40 - and marvelled at the prominences you sketched in the first two pictures, Somehow, I completely missed the prominences in your last two.
Today was the most activity (prominences - not disk) I've seen since I first started observing not very long ago. I guess I got so excited at the first two that I didn't look hard enough for anything else.
Question to you: The parameter p sub a that you use to label your sketches: Does that correspond to the azimuth-like markings on the coordinate drawing of the sun you post?

Gene, the pa stands for position angle. I just noticed that the graphic of the solar disk that I inserted needed to be rotated 90 degrees CW so have made the changes to match my scope orientation. In my scope (and should be the same for yours depending on which way you have your diagonal turned) West was to the top of my field of view and north was to the right. I generally view off to the side of the scope instead of above the eyepiece. So a PA of 270 would be solar west, PA of 90 would be solar East, and so forth.
It's easy to miss a few features depending on how the filter is tuned and where it is in your field of view because of sweet spots with this scope. By adjusting the tuner and moving the solar disk back and forth you can pull out a lot more details that what first meets the eye. Proms and plage appear and disappear as adjustments are made.

That explanation helps.
It must have been the 255 and the 350 I saw - not the other two - because I remember which way the sun was drifting.
I was surprised that the setting (single stacked) that brought out the best prominence detail differed from the setting that brought out the best "orange peel" on the disk.
Now that I've finally gotten used to viewing with my own equipment, I'll have a point of comparison (one i=I never had before) when I wander through the Solar Party at the next NEAF and viewe through the other H(a) rigs there.

I just discovered your recent sketch work in Spaceweather today. A most beautiful set of prominence sketches and fine report! 
I am going to Central Oregon next week to provide a presentation on my astronomy art but was not intent on taking my solar h-alpha scope
as I thought the sun was inactive.
Seeing your sketches just changed that,
