"Just to be warned the BLUE "indicating" silica gel is bad stuff. Listed as Hazardous Material in the UK as it contains Cobalt Chloride."

Saliva causes cancer when swallowed in small amounts over a long period of time.

Cheers,

Bill

Right Bill, but unlike bacon, saliva is also an excellent lens-cleaning solvent. It dissolves proteins, don-cha-know.
I sometimes use it with a cotton ball on troublesome spots. I thought this was terrible, and tried to hide it, then I learned that Roland Cristen does it, although he secretes only the finest optically certified kind.

But let's not get carried away with the matter of fact aspects of saliva, to the point where it's cultural significance is, uh, watered down. As in,

I speet on your binoculars, with my dying speet. Peh!(dies)
CURTAIN

Ron

Roland has "optically perfect spit"? Bummer. We were told in OM "A" school that we were the only ones who were trained to make it! . . . . . HAZMAT, 'ya know.

Cheers,

Bill
