Has anyone used or tested the new Celestron Skymaster 20-100x 70 mm zoom and 25-125x 80 mm zoom binoculars? I have the Skymaster 15-30x 50 mm zoom binocs and they seem to work very well with good images and smooth zoom action.

Stay away from zoom binoculars. Pretty much all of them perform poorly, especially for astronomy.

Hi Frank,
Agreed. Stay away from these. The one that I did buy, more out of curiosity than anything else, ended up in my workshop for extra parts, even if I could ever even use them!
Please stay away from this stuff. Best I can say.
Best regards, Dave.

Yes as Jim and Dave say above - avoid zooms esp. for astronomy - there are numerous reason for this - narrow FOV, dim and inferior image, difficulty in keeping collimation and they are difficult to fix. Some do use for terrestrial viewing. If you are looking for more aperture without going to the 100 mm size a good quality bino. like the Garrett Signature 15x70 / Oberwerk Ultra 15x70 series or simililar would be an excellent choice.
