Lens covers for Nikon Action Ex 50mm
      #3345280 - 09/20/09 06:02 PM

Hi there!

Bought these binos some months ago and considering what i paid for them im pleased with their performance.
However what im not pleased with is the lens covers that came with them. No matter what i do they fall of.. So i need some replacement covers.

Does anyone know of any flip up covers that fits these? I know it exists flip ups for rifle telescopes.. Maybe they would fit?

Regards
John

Hi John,

I am not familiar with rifle telescope covers. However, your description of what you want is very clear.

In addition to Daniel's recommendation, there are end caps (covers) available at Agena Astro. I haven't done the measurements for my Nikon 12x50 Action EX. Agena suggests using weather stripping, if needed, to make their covers fit more snugly. Another problem is I don't know weather stripping widths. So, I can't recommend which cover in the listing at the site might work.

My Nikon's pop-in objective covers are quite snug. But, darn, they put smudges on the objectives!

Best regards,

Yes. I don't remember the size. I took them to the gun shop and test fit them.

The Blizzards were a bit cheaper than the solid caps...

i'm watching this thread for ideas. my Nikon 10x50AE caps disappeared after two days! Darn things kept popping out at inappropriate times.

The Butler Creek Objective caps work perfectly.

Eagle Optics sells Bushwacker objective covers which are similar in concept to the Butler Creek-- I use a pair on my Nikon E2s and find they work great. Just measure the outside of your objectives and pick the proper size. They come one per package.
