Name: Helix Nebula (NGC 7293) Type: Planetary nebula Constellation: Aquarius
Observing Site: Moustiers Sainte Marie (France) Date: 13 September 2009
Seeing: Good Transparency: Excellent
Telescoop: 8" Skywatcher Dobson Magnification: 40x Filter: UHC
Despite its low altitude, this is one of the most beautiful nebulae I have ever seen. I saw a large, nearly round nebula in the middle of three stars that formed a triangle. In the center there was an opening visible.

Demelza,
An excellent observation of the Helix Nebula (NGC 7293). Your skies must be pretty dark. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Demelza,
Don't you just love this big planetary. This is a great capture from so far north and a wonderful sketch to boot.
