Jupiter was just a bright white ball!!! :(

i finally got a web cam set up in my scope and got it nice and focused and all i could see was white. is my scope to big and collecting too much light? i was not using any filters but i just got a #58 Green today i'm going to try. what should i do? btw, i messed with brightness and contrast and it didnt help.

8buck,

Try turning down the gain setting in your software. That might help.

my dad uses a adjustable porlized filter, I think its made by Orion and only $35

I had the same problem tonight on my first astrophoto attempt until, like rg55 suggested, I turned down the "gain" setting. In my software (AMCap) the lowest gain setting resulted in the highest contrast.
