And The Original Orion StarShoot Keeps On Going!
      #3350623 - 09/23/09 01:46 AM Attachment (17 downloads)

We've had some very pristine skies here on Vancouver Island the last few days. I decided to try and shoot with my Antares f/6.3 reducer on my Meade 8" SCT PLUS the Original Orion Starshoot coupled to my Antares .5X reducer yes...stacked! I used PHD Guiding, my DMK Webcam and Orion ST-80 being my guidescope. I was amazed, despite some vignetting, how wide a field I could get! These images are from 4 to 8 frames, all at 400 seconds each, processed in Maxim DL and touched up in Corel PaintShopPro X2. Here are the East & West Veil, and a portion of the Pacman Nebula. Comments greatly appreciated! Thanks for looking.

The 6.3 & .5 reducers have no vignetting if they are used separately.

This is a "stacked" configuration and I expected some vignetting. I have the Meade 3.3 as well, but the other "cobmination" seems to yield better results, at least with my system.
