Where can I buy leather straps?
Buying vintage binoculars, they are often accompanied by the original leather strap.
Can you show me some European supplier of these straps or international?
thanks

Hi,
I have used ebay before for a replacement leather strap, or you could try these guys, though they are quite pricey.

If you require originality/authenticity, then pursue those leather straps. But, if security is your major concern, use tubular or flat nylon webbing, in various colors, available at climbing, alpinism, backpacking/camping suppliers. Pass it through both attachment points, to form a single loop. Tie one knot, preferably a waterknot ( Google it to see a video on how to tie this knot for flat webbing or belts, or find it in a knot book). If desired, glue or sew the loose ends of the knot to the main part of the loop. The ends can be melted in a gas flame , or with a match, to prevent fraying.
The webbing is much more flexible than leather, so it fits more easily into cases, or can be wrapped around the central parts of the binocular, when not in use.

As a tourist, I ordered and bought about 100 straps , each time, from horse saddle and general horse equipment suppliers in Guadalajara , Mexico, and later, closer to the US border. The main problem is finding the two-headed brass buttons which secure the straps. I had saved many of those buttons when discarding worn-out or broken straps. Perhaps there is a supplier of those buttons.
