Has anyone had this probelm when setting up their HEQ5-Pro or Sirius mount? I have repeatedly sliced my right index finger knuckle and it bleeds like crazy. This occurs when setting up for the night and doing a polar alignment. Somehow, I keep hitting my knuckle on one of the tripod bolts which are very jagged on the ends. Short of filing the bolt ends down, I went out to Home Depot and found some 5/8" plasitc leg tips. The acorn nuts on the bolts are actually 1/2" so I put some Scotch double sided foam tape in each cap to take up the slack. Now, no more blood all over the mount!!

Ouch! That doesn't sound good. Skywatcher should know better than to leave sharp edges on their gear...pretty poor design/manufacturing or QC.

Jeeze if you'd taken pictures of blood all over the mount and gotten a lawyer and a nasty letter you probably could have gotten the cost of acquiring a G11 refunded to you no problem!

Hahaha! A couple of nights after you posted, I skinned my knuckle slightly on the accessory bolt sticking out of the top of the the rings of my GEM scope. (I had the tube rotated down so the bolt was sticking out laterally.) And then the next night out, it happened again!
It musta been 'cuz you posted it!

So I'm not going crazy! I could post a picture of my right index finger with the gash in it!
