advice on entrylevel color ccd cameras needed

hi guys
im looking into trying out some ccd AP.
im looking for a entrylevel color ccd, like the meade and the orion series.
are there any advice on what to get, under 1000$ newprice.
im trying to find a secondhand one, since i dont want to use to much money on it in the start.
appreciate any advice.

For planetary try the Celestron NexImage, it's supposed to have the same chip as the old toUcam. Used, Meades first DSI cameras have been going for around $100. These will give you better controll on your exposure time. I have one of the old color ones, does fine on planets, but the pro sure does better on DSOs. Note, I can't get either of these cameras to work on Vista 64 bit computers. My friend couldn't get either to work on his 7 either. Hope you saved an older XP for your AP computer.
