Hi Folks
Have been after some big binos for a while
so bought the 7.4s when they were up for grabs
recently.
Now a pair of the Tak Fluorites have come up
should i have bought them instead?
I understand that the Taks are the Holy Grail
but are they gonna show more than the Helios,s.
Im new to Binos but see them as being the way
ahead for ease of use,currently use an old pair
of Zeiss 8 x 32B mc.

They are semi-apo triplets and get good reviews this
side of the pond,but not obviously near the same quality as
the Taks.

I have no personal experience with either,
but the TAK-good as it is-is only 60mm
they should compliment-one for deeper sky, one grab and go

Yeah your right i could do with both,looks like im too
late on the Taks though,even though the Taks are only 60mm
their optics are so good they apparently preform as well as good 70mms according to that report by Edz.
I guess what i was really trying to ask was, for your first set of serious binos which one of the two would you have chosen.
From my own point of view i had been after a pair of 7.4s
for a while and this was the first pair that had been up
for sale second-hand in the UK.

I would go with the 100mms. One can do a lot with 60-70mm binoculars,
but 100mms gives your the glass to go much deeper, to see much more.
Assuming the Helios are good quality and portability is not an issue, I do not think you went wrong.
